2008 High
Performance Hockey Conditioning Camps
The
Twist Team is a progressive team, driven to
re-define sport conditioning through knowledge,
innovation, and experience. Our mandate is to build
champion athletes and winners in life with passion and
integrity.
Peter
Twist, 10 year veteran Strength and Conditioning Coach
of the Vancouver Canucks (NHL) and his team of elite
Sport Conditioning Coaches have successfully optimized
the performance of hundreds of Pro Hockey Players
including, Trevor Linden, Markus Naslund, Peter
Schaefer, Mark Messier, Eric Brewer, Ed Jovanovski, Kris
Beech, Bryan McCabe, Mattias Ohlund, Dan Hamhuis, Daniel
and Henrik Sedin, plus hundreds of College, Junior, and
elite amateur players with it’s proven hockey training
methods and technologies.
Our goal
is to help athletes achieve better on-ice performance
and compete injury free. This will ultimately help the
athletes reach their goals in sport. Physically, we want
to make our players faster, quicker, more agile,
powerful, reactive, and the best conditioned athletes on
the ice. Mentally, we instill confidence, determination,
challenge, work-ethic, perseverance, and leadership
through our coaching and training methods.
The Twist Hockey Conditioning System
Peter Twist and
the Twist Conditioning Team have developed a sport
conditioning system that has re-shaped the way athletes
train today. The Twist Hockey Conditioning System
focuses on training the secondary fitness
characteristics: anaerobic energetics, dynamic balance,
speed, agility, quickness, movement skills, muscle
reactivity, reaction skills, multi joint strength and
power, rotary core strength, eccentric braking,
deceleration-acceleration coupling, power initiation,
skill and power perturbations, sensory overload and
other athletic attributes that transfer well to a
players hockey performance, making players more skilful,
competent and durable. Our goal is to improve
multi-directional movement abilities and reduce injuries
common in hockey with varying, unpredictable task
demands. Most exciting is that we can now directly
improve skills from a unique style of training alone!
